IMO, since the sellers of Tantivy have some ongoing rights to Tantivy revenues: (1) IDCC is obligated to enforce the Tantivy patents (as part of the Tantivy sale) and (2) IDCC needs to keep the Tantivy claims (and revenues) separate from IDCC's claims and revenues.

Of course, any win against LU by Tantivy will also benefit the likelihood of LU licensing with IDCC, too.

Again, if this is the case, then I am a bit disappointed that the LU action is not a major licensing strategy initiave by IDCC, but rather, it stems from the obligation to enforce Tantivy's patents.
