Than you for the input..I did think that PicoChip offered Software systems that can be updated by a subscriber or by the Network..and merely would enhance any ASIC...


mschere, i don't think ASICs remain competitive
at cellphone volumes for long. they tend to be stepping stones, proof of concept type things. reference designs do the same. when it's time for volume, they'll be integrated into other components or made by third-party manufacturers.

the protocol stack--although a product--is an enabling technology that is really just a license to the software--already written, tested, debugged, compliant, etc...
