A couple of our best informed readers pointed out that Karl Rove's former aide, Scott Jennings, recently returned to Kentucky after leaving his White House Post. Jennings has set up shop as director of strategic development at Peritus Public Relations, a public affairs firm based in Louisville.

Did Jennings, they wanted to know, have anything to do with that bogus robocall campaign against Gov. Ernie Fletcher's Democratic opponent?

Good question.

Our Eric Kleefeld just tracked Jennings down and reports that Jennings denies any involvement with the robocalls. Jennings said he's still living in a Kentucky hotel following his recent move, only found out about the robocalls when he read the local newspaper, and hasn't received the call himself.
