Yes, that was my point. We're like the chicken placed in the cage with a snake. At first it panics and flutters around, then when the snake doesn't move, it settles down, making it an easy target for the snake.

When the gaslines reach the two-hours-long ones we saw in the '70's you will hear a lot of screaming I'm sure. I do hope it doesn't come to that this time, and that we make a concerted, committed effort to cut our dependence on oil, both foreign and domestic. I'm convinced the technology is there -- it just needs to be developed for practical applications.
