Shinoki, We can't prove this of course, but I think you are right that roger used money indirectly from Cal-Bay to fund his interest in other companies. You can probably think of ways it might be done. I don't know if this co-mingling of funds was legal or not, but it does seem to me that it existed as a regular way of his doing business.
As far as I know Cobs still functions as the do-it-yourself home building company tied closely with Home Depot. To use a metaphor, if Cal-Bay was the U.S. in the Civil War, then Cobs Homes was the South. Only in this Civil War, Cobs won and seceeded from the union.
With roger's propensity for running companies into the ground, I guess you could be correct in assuming that if companies he acquired were not worthless when he got them that they eventually would be. Interesting to note that about a year ago he was touting the acquisition of TLCO software as a big money-maker for CBAY. Where did it go?
