my apologies poke, I thought you were bringing up the Faraday BS again. The problems you speak of are currently not an issue.
In the late 80's due to misapplication of surge protection by Japanese engineers and again in the early 2000's due to cost cutting (real engineers in favor of mngt engineers). It may crop up again in the future for some new unforeseen occurrence, but 3rd times the charm as they say.

Yes, very clean unless you happen to be between a broken piece of hardware and the wall or a piece calibrated by one of the affore mentioned mgmt engineers expeditiously signing their name to anything they wanted to move out for productivities' sake. Extremely dangerous if your life depends on communications hardware calibrated with that garbage.

Radiated energy from a loose screw or an improperly bent supply wire always gave good reason to trust a german electrical engineer over one from any other country, but the chicken wire issue is dead with current built in digital discriminators. Besides the problems you mention would fry the electronics first, nowadays. Improperly designed antenna are a bigger problem.
