I would expect that to throw an error right at the line I try to work with it, rather than shutting down ASP.

In any event, I never dim recordsets explicitly. I always do a "set rs=my_conn.execute(sqlstring)".

I doubt it's anything having to do with SQL Server, since little was changed along those lines. The problems started when the new webserver was fired up as a replacement for the old one. The only SQL-related "change" would've been that the web-server has a new installation of the SQL client.

The only symptom is that ASP completely stops. It's not necessarily during periods of high traffic. Traffic was very low when it happened yesterday. No events are logged. The times I've seen it happen, CPU utilization was stable.

my question is, if i wanted to post..is there a template i can use? in other words, what are the minimum number of parameters to the URL i need to do a post? just curious...


Can't be done. The backend routines for putting posts in the database require you to be logged in and they have to have been called by the frontend routines.
