If anyone can figure this out, I would love to know!


So would I. Thanks for letting us know what worked for you. I sure can't see any connection between the two programs. If I recall, you can set up MSN Messenger to try to make an internet connection at every startup but I don't see the connection with IE. I can only think that Norton or some other program looks for updates when it is started and that triggers the "dial a connection" to try checking for the update.
