How dumb we are when we're young, Gary. I wouldn't attempt that trip on my own now if someone paid me.

I stopped the first night somewhere in Oklahoma only because of severe weather...but that was it. I left the next morning about 5:00 a.m. and drove straight through arriving at my home prox 24 hours later, stopping only for gas.

How foolish was that!

I've got to say this, however...I never took a wrong turn and the only prob I had was finding a service station that was open while taking a short cut through S.D. where towns were few and far between. I finally stopped a constable in some small town and he got the owner of a station to open up. Once I got back on the Interstate I was home free...
