This should not be surprising. With 1333 FSB and 800 memory burst speeds, there needs to be some kind of added flow control to manage data. This adds overhead, and usually defeats the small gains from increasing bandwidth. This is why I think that DDR3-1333 memory would be the best type to pair with the new E6x50 Conroe parts.
