Tax Man Your theory is half right .What really is the case is they can short and naked short any stock (referring to MM and brokers,hegde funds)if you have a margin account.But if you are concerned about being naked shorted put it in a cash account,I heard they can not short cash accounts.When you think there about 1500 brokers and 2000 MMs we are little fish in a big pond.
