Acutally, AMD MADE billions of dollars at these times. Of course, we're still waiting for AMD to make a profit with the new CPUs. I'm pretty sure they will, though.

Sorry, but AMD has not made Billions of dollars. Not during that time frame or ever for that matter. AMD has not even recovered the investment in Nexgen. In fact AMD is a net loser over it's entire corporate lifetime. But let's not dwell on unimportant matters. AMD posts the highest scores at blasting mutant aliens and that's the measure of success, right? That's why the share price is right where it was over 20 years ago.

It's the benchmarks stupid!
