Yep, it's unbelievable what goes on in the schools these days. I remember the dreaded paddle. It worked for me. I wish they would bring it back. Unfortunately there would probably be a flurry of lawsuits.
If we had a disagreement with somebody at school, we didn't pull out a 9mm and start shooting. At worst, we met down by the creek after school and duked it out. I don't recall anybody getting more than a bloody nose or a bruised ego.
You are right. It's a whole different ballgame today. Drugs, alcohol, violence, etc. I think it has a lot to do with lack of proper parenting skills. I wasn't a super strict father but I worked hard at setting an example and at teaching my daughter ethical behavior. She has done well in life.
Society really needs to take a good look at what's going on with children today before it's too late.
I just realized something. I sound like my parents did way back when. And you know what, they were right all along.
