The rest of the story is actually on-topic because Monsanto dealt with the predicament in Brazil the way ABT is now dealing with its predicament in Thailand: by pulling out of the country or threatening to do so.

Look at Monsanto’s stock chart; one reason the company’s business is humming is that Brazil is now paying royalties on seed sales.
