Why would "law-abiding" citizens be "discouraged" from buying guns? - Meme
Any law or regulation regarding the legal sale of guns discourages law-abiding citizens from going through with the purchase. Paperwork, fees, etc. - Spall
You asked a question, then quoted Spall's answer - which happens to be accurate. The discouragement comes from the inconvenience involved and from being treated like a criminal for wanting the means to defend yourself FROM criminals.
Oh yeah, we all surely know how the paperwork, fees, documentation and standing in line discourages people from buying and registering cars.
If the two were anything alike, your argument may hold water, but since they are as diiferent from each other as they are from buying groceries, it doesn't. Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you were fingerprinted to buy a car?
As if that weren't a lame enough argument in and of itself, why should they be ENcouraged to buy guys anyway? I don't particularly wish to encourage anyone to buy guns.
SO people should not be encouraged to self reliance and to protect thier families? Ok, I see.
