Doc, I'm not suggesting that this wasn't the right thing to do, I'm only saying that people will prefer having it done closer to home. According to Co-Pilot there are 10 official sites and roughly another 10 to 20 places with the needed equipment for CAR-T, etc. which can be utilized if available. Hopefully each site schedules its service and can include some of our patients at locations closer to where they live.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how handling after leukapheresis is done. It didn't sound like cryogenic preservation should be done, if not, how is it handled and how long do they have to get it to where the vaccine can be made?

Shipping with dry ice, etc. can be done and low temps maintained for a few days, in most case that can move things all over the world. It would be a shame to lose material and have to get more. If it's overly complex, more manufacturing sites or leukapheresis sites may be needed in time.
