Somehow the discussion has become AD or nothing.
Anavex has opportunities for Fragile X, Rett, PD, PDD, Schizophrenia.

Several of those will have trials that are shorter and smaller than AD. Anavex just needs one approval for any indication to prove the MOA and generate an income stream.
The question for me is what is the damage from Missling's firing and what is the plan going forward.
AD is just part of the picture.
We still don't know if the FDA will get an NDA for AD before the announced AD trial is completed or even started.

The share price is so low due to the uncertainty concerning Missling and the path forward. Assuming Missling wasn't cooking the books or fudging the data, once that is all made public the SP should climb some. How far depends on the damage and the chosen path forward.
