Doc, you're usually factual and objective in your posts, but it looks like you went subjective all ahead on this one. But let's break it down.

True as far as it goes. NWBO has combo patents granted in the UK, Europe, Japan, China, and Australia. Has one pending in the US since 2020 but the process is normally lengthy here (4 to 7 yrs), and there isn't anything I can find that would support big pharma influence in the process.

Are there any? I don't know but any possibilities or approaches at this level would be covered by NDAs, so wouldn't be known.
So at first glance looks tempting, but in the end most probably just another bear attempt to do what bears normally do in the woods.
