I’m guessing Missling’s being fired for cause was more complicated than an ethics breach. While he obviously did something egregious, as defined in his contract, his entire tenure as CEO was an epic fail. It’s possible that the board was looking to sack him anyway and whatever he did that was a fireable offense was the last straw.
