Today we’re announcing that Version 1.1 of our backend-of-line (BEOL) process design kit (PDK) is ready to be transferred to a high-volume production environment.

The updated PDK incorporates key advancements in the BEOL process designed to further streamline integration into silicon photonics platforms and accelerate adoption. Key features include:
- Enhanced BEOL process integration to improve manufacturability and device consistency in high-volume production environments
- Wafer-level poling and testing to support scalable, efficient device processing and characterization aligned with production workflows
- Generation 4 encapsulation for improved environmental stability and long-term reliability

Transfer of the PDK to a high-volume semiconductor foundry is underway, with the majority of the integration expected in the second half of 2026.

With the PDK 1.1, we’re continuing our collaboration with ecosystem partners to integrate our electro-optic polymer technology into industry-standard workflows and to accelerate the adoption of low-power, high-speed optical interconnect solutions.
