Mayo is showing poor judgment by acting on behalf of Anavex when he knows nothing about what Anavex may be doing behind the scenes. By stepping into the process on his own, he is also demonstrating that he has little faith in Missling’s ability to successfully argue the case for approval. At the very least, he should have done Missling the courtesy of telling him what he was thinking of doing to make sure Missling was okay with it. You don’t just inject yourself into a highly sensitive situation involving drug regulators about which you know very little. If you want to label my criticism of Mayo’s interference as “malintent”, that’s your problem.
