Funny how ahead of the time we were on this message board with the computing with light idea. I remember bumping into Terry Turpin vetting the magic here (He rode a Harley and had an eye patch) and once he approved of Lightwaves tech I was convinced that they were onto something, understand that he was an NSA optical computing guru at the time and spent a few years here helping out, but he was so far ahead of the curve that when he retired and went to his first love of “cracking rocks for fossils” in the desert. Anyhoos once I saw that Turpin, then Fasick, then Miller had vetted and approved this I knew we were onto something albeit before its time. Shoot AI was not understood then, folks that were on this board and around back then remember our discussions. Optical computing is still today off in the distance and because as slow as electric computing is compared to light GPU’s are only able to compute 40% of the time because they are waiting on the bottlenecks to clear and if they were to speed up processing say 100% then it would sit idle for 80% of the time. So now we understand why the priority at Lightwave is to resolve those bottlenecks, inside, outside, between data centers and eventually after 1 million xsfers between the racks back to the user. Remember when Turpin was at Essex and it appeared that Essex (KEYW) was going to takeover of Lightwave but then Northrop took over Essex so that did not happen. If my memory serves me right that was a little less than 20 years ago.

Although come to think of it if optical computing removes the need for EO conversion then perhaps the GPU could communicate directly? Hmmm, next play here perhaps. How can anyone calculate that revenue.

Presentation
Look at the wizard peering through a telescope, visionary indeed.
This is a presentation of Turpins vision, lol look at the last slide (KEYW) Key West remember the parrot?

Lightwave is what the industry needs now to enable modulation on a chip produced in a foundry and then coated with ALD to protect so no need for a “gold Box” and not only that but it moves it inside the GPU.

X, So when some state that they were deceived in the past here apparently, they did not figure out what happened behind the curtain.

I could not find anything on Terry Turpin (his official title was "Optical computing Guru" but I did find an obituary for his wife, if you down you can see him cracking rocks with his eye patch.

What long road this has been and they, he, it, us, was so far ahead of the curve.

AI was NOT used just my memory of the events
