A couple rules to remember when investing in small biotech companies (some of these were learned as part of an expensive education):
1. If the CEO 's mouth is moving, he is misleading (usually not outright lying but leaving out truths, misrepresenting and most importantly telling best case not most likely case).
2. Any straying from a direct and most expected interpretation of top-line data release is of concern and usually not going to end well.
3. An experienced BOD is very important . A CEO needs to be challenged
4. Stock boards are for entertainment and for idea generation. Agendas are plentiful and true knowledge is sparse.

There are many more and I found this chain on Biotech values to nicely summarize common mistakes. Many of these can be neatly mapped onto the majority of posts here over the last couple years https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=71330113

Clinical trial interpretations is not simple and the more studies you rip apart the better you get. I start each PR reporting a TLD with the thought - what are they NOT saying.
