Plug signed a non-binding letter of intent to sell its electricity rights at an undisclosed location in New York and collaborate with an unnamed U.S. data center developer.

As for STREAM's plans, it continues to receive opposition within the region. The Tonawanda Seneca Nation and local residents have focused complaints about the plans on potential noise, water use, and environmental impacts that have reportedly plagued other communities where data centers have been located.
