I used to go to the Fillmore and Winterland to see the Grateful Dead
and Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana, Steve Miller and so
much more. We were wiped out on acid for all these shows and life
was divine. I moved up to Camp Meeker in western Sonoma County
in the summer of 71. We could look down on the Bohemian Highway
and see the black limos taking all the Bigwigs to Bohemian Grove for
the annual bash in August of 71. Nixon didn't show. He felt that the
Bohemian Club was too "faggy". Kissinger was there, however. It was
there that the decision to take us off the gold standard was endorsed.
I moved back to San Francisco in 72 and stayed til 78, when the scene
finally ran its course and I moved to Hawaii. But, that's another story.
