I am FARRR from being an Apple Fanboy (my phone is an Android and our business is nearly 100% Windows based) but I can tell you that from a support perspective the two companies are nowhere near the same.
In the IT world, Microsoft's support is a running joke. It pretty much does not exist. Open a support ticket for a corporate product where lots is at stake and you likely will either a) never hear back from Microsoft or b) will be connected with someone whose English is limited and who has no IT experience...reading from a script.
I have a ticket open with them on a major problem accessing software licenses. No response. It's infuriating.
On the other hand, we sometimes need to reach out to Apple on various issues and someone picks up the phone almost immediately. They are based in the USA, they understand their products and they actually provide help.
As if Apple won't be doing exactly what Microsoft is. Bothsides! They're ALL the same!
