Intentions don't universally result in the intended outcome becoming a reality.  Thompson intended to 'scale and sale' in 2014, 2019, and just about every year since.
Right now, Thompson is paying for two production sites and looking for a third.  Meanwhile, investors have only a muddled understanding of Thompson's production schedule.  Apparently they haven't gotten to the point where they are raising many silkworms for silk.  Instead the facilities are still increasing the breeding pools.
Bam-1 turned out to have a parental strain that performed poorly.  We don't have enough history on the replacement strain or the new hybrids to determine if they are viable yet either.  So we all could find ourselves four or five months down the road with Thompson announcing yet another shipment of silkworms from the US to Vietnam and no clear timetable for production, even if we get more promises of metric ton scale production by 2026.
Thus I am not particularly impressed by his latest intentions.  This PR had all of the import of a belch.
