Surf, Here's an updated list of the stocks I own (link below, see I-Box). 215 stocks (yikes), but small positions. I got a little carried away, but keep finding more that meet the selection criteria for LT buy/hold --> a nice LT chart (steadiness and trajectory), and good numbers (23 key data metrics from Yahoo Finance, like - margins, net income, debt level, etc).
In addition to index ETFs (S+P 500) and some sector ETFs, the total stock allocation is still only 17% of the investment portfolio, so fairly conservative all things considered. The idea of owning lots of individual LT stocks is one way to avoid the temptation to frequently trade, and keeps things LT oriented. It's also fun to search for additional idea for the 'stock collection'. One good source of ideas is to peruse the holdings of small and midcap stock mutual funds. It's a fun hobby anyway :o)
