As per OTC Compliance
Transition Process for changing Transfer Agents has 3 basic steps for completion

1) Record Transfer: The outgoing transfer agent must deliver the shareholder records (ledger, certificate history, DWAC/FAST balances) to the incoming agent.

2) Validation & Reconciliation: The new agent has to reconcile this data against DTCC and broker-dealer positions to ensure everything matches.

3) System Setup: The new agent then sets up the issuer profile in their reporting system and links it to OTC Markets’ transfer agent verification portal.

Typical Timeframe for completion of the above

1–2 weeks is normal if both sides cooperate and the company’s share structure is straightforward.

Up to 30 days if there are complications (disputes over authorized shares, past corporate actions, or uncooperative outgoing agent).

Faster in 3–5 business days if it’s a clean transition, the issuer is current, and the new TA is an OTC Markets–verified agent.

OTC Markets till Reporting time frame

OTC Markets requires real-time transfer agent verification for Current tier or higher (OTCQB, OTCQX, OTCID).

Once the new TA is linked, they can immediately begin pushing daily share structure updates (AS, OS, restricted, float).

If there’s a gap during the transition, the last reported structure remains visible until the new TA resumes reporting.
