OTC – Longest Bear Cycle Ever? When Will It Turn?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been in the OTC for years and honestly, since the big run in March 2021, all we’ve seen is a steady downtrend. Volumes are thin, most plays are stuck, and it feels like the market has been asleep for over 4 years now.
❓My questions to the board:
Has the OTC ever had a bear cycle longer than 5 years before?
Are we close to a catalyst that could wake it up again (regulatory changes, crypto hype, elections, M&A season, etc.)?
Or is this the “new normal” for OTC until liquidity comes back into small caps?
Personally, I believe the OTC always comes back. The right mix of low floats, new sectors (AI, crypto, fintech) and a bit of FOMO can bring the volume back quickly. But the wait has been brutal.
Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts. Is this the bottom of the cycle… or do we have more pain ahead before the next big run?
Cheers,
