Thank you, RRP60, for your kind words.
I have always been very consistent over the years in what I said:
I despise Linda Powers for not adding Advent to NWBO as a subsidiary. I bring this up whenever the subject comes around. And when I’m challenged with nonsensical counterarguments, I push back. That’s just who I am.
I am allergic to the constant “worshipping” of Powers. She is no Steve Jobs or Bill Gates—far from it. She’s nowhere near a Noubar Afeyan or Robert Langer, founders of Moderna, who in just 15 years built a biotech giant now worth $11 billion. Nor is she an Arie Belldegrun (Kite Pharma) or John Oyler (BeiGene). Powers is, in my view, by far one of the worst CEOs of any listed company I’ve ever followed up close.
I admire DCVax technology. It’s absolutely superb—but that’s not Powers’ accomplishment. Credit belongs to Dr. Liau, and to some extent Dr. Bosch. In my view Powers seized the opportunity to enrich herself on the back of DCVAX tech.
I am 95% sure that DCVax-L will be approved.
What I’ve always said is that I’d be over the moon just to get my investment back. Right now, I’m a bagholder.
That said, I do expect NWBO to be bought out, for many reasons: the age of management, the total lack of preparation for the next phase after MHRA approval, the absence of adequate funding, the fact that 90% of small biotechs with an approved drug are acquired, and the absence of seasoned leadership for commercialization, etc. So if the PR at the time of approval signals even slightly in the direction of a buyout, I’ll wait it out to see that happen.
