Quantum hybrid systems with gpu’s and qpu’s will solve the power problem. QPU’s use far less power, and are more cost effective. Using a combination of both, qpu’s for the combinatorial side, and gpu’s for the data side, will cut the energy needs by half. Plus IonQ quantum machines are already optimizing a power plant in Chattanooga. Power plants waste up to 60% of their energy switching on and off during peak and low demands. Quantum optimizes this switching and saves tons of energy. There are over 12,500 power plants in the U S alone. Quantum /classical systems are the future. And the future is now. Not 5 or 10 years from now. Ionq received their first contract for 22 million from E P B power in Chattanooga.
