Amusing. There is no "AI hype".

AI is real. The fact that some think it's simply "hype" is quite ridiculous. There might be overly early enthusiasm about what AI might lead to. But to say it's actually "hype" is (in my opinion) foolhardy.

AI is still pretty much in its infancy. Yes, it's been talked about and theorized for 50 years. But at this point, its at the same stage as computers were when the PC first came out. People ridiculed those too....said it was just a fad and that it would soon fade. Look where we are today. People ridiculed the Wrights when they first achieved flight. People said that it didn't have any use. Look at where we are today.

The other factor is quantum computing. AI is just getting started and when Quantum computing achieves a few more milestones? Watch out. AI and Quantum will combine and then mankind will likely grow by leaps and bounds.

I think it's possible that in just 5 to 10 years, we'll be seeing some amazing advancements. There are definitely some hurdles. Power is one. AI and Quantum need lots and lots of power. That will eventually be figured out. AI will even help figure it out as it gains speed and knowledge.
