Our humanity has dealt with that since throwing rocks in one way or another. Progress isn't always the smoothest process.
People over the ages learn something and use it until another comes along that is actually better and more productive no matter how many people try to stay with the old ways, the agers become stuck with a process no one supports any more and they can't find the tools, materials so they must accept and relearn again.
It's the ability of people to share ideas that move the needle into the future. It's when groups or corps like OIL stop that process and force old tech to keep their profit. People also evolved wise men and women who remember the old ways and become sages of knowledge because there is always something of value in the past or recent past.
Every segment of working society has your same examples. I came almost kicking and screaming into the digital age of photography after being invested in negative film industry and chemicals. Whether we photographers embraced digital or not, we were left having to save our data to the next new media. I still have books of negatives. They may never see the future. I still have darkroom equipment that can go on the antique road show.
No one hardly accepts typed resumes any more.
What I resent is todays blatant monetization of an idea or process at the expense of peoples safety and livelihood. This includes the disinformation machine that also generates 10's of millions of dollars for the creators and internet providers.
Like I've said about clicking on a meme's 'like'. If you're clicking on thumbs up of a twit repost, you're not supporting the original artist or creator, not only that the original creator of that meme spent 17 seconds typing in a few words into AI meme bots. So who exactly are people clicking for? They're clicking for whatever last account that copied and reposted that meme for the hundredth time.
