I ran an analysis on companies that performed reverse splits over the past 5 years. One company did a RS of something like 1000 for 1398 every year. If you did a buy and hold, purchasing the shares 5 years ago, and selling today, it would have appeared that you were up about 30%, when in actuality you would have been down about 70%, after adjusting cost basis for all of the splits. Same company has been doing that since the early 2000s.
