There offense is pathetic and compared to the expectations and warranted expectation that they were gonna be one of the three or five best offense in baseball, they have brutally underperformed those expectation by a huge margin. instead they are one of the worst teams i have ever seen with risp. it is even worse if you take pete numbers out of it, because he is the anomaly this year in that position to the team number. could you imagine how bad they would of been if they didn't resign him. The mets were 1/5 with risp last night (a) They couldn't buy a hit (b) when they get there chances they can't get hit.
Congrats to taylor he was 0 for 19 before that. And now he gets to start his next 0 for 19 before he gets his next single. he was already off to a good start after that by going 0-2 the rest of the game. so I guess about 17 or 18 ab to go before his next single I can't wait. In the mean time the small villages he will leaves on the bases because they keep playing him will be insane.
This mets team is very talented, waaaaaaaaaaaaay more talented than the 2024 mets, having said that where 2024 mets overachieved and got every ounce and more out of the talent, this team does less with more on a consistent basis. and might be one of the most unclutch team I have ever seen (considering the talent level). The talent tells me this should turn around, but the facts are it should of turned around a long time ago. Still believe it can, but each passing day that belief continues to wane when they continue to fail time and time again with risp in my opinion. To be fair that isn't there only problem at this point. I still think the mets are gonna make the playoff, but they need to wake up soon, and they are already down 3-0 today, and already 0-3 with risp today. They need to show a sign here eventually, how about there offense wakes up it should have the talent to do so, they shouldn't be this bad at this in my opinion, not even close. Shaking my head.
