for all intents and purposes full Telcordia Gr-468 testing has been completed
1) the recent 85/85 results was the most stringent of all the Telcordia tests albeit not the longest requiring only 1000 hours to complete the test for "Damp Heat"
the Tier 1 partners only have to redo the 1000 hours test in a device (41 days) since LWLG did these tests on the material only. The results would not be expected to change in a device, remember, the ALD encapsulation provides the protection and that is the same when in a device
2) the longest Telcordia tests are for 2000 hours (required) and 5000 hours (optional) for devices which LWLG already completed 5000+ hours using its own fully packaged 200gbs Modulator devices
a) Temperature Cycling
b) High Temperature Storage
c) Low Temperature Storage
if the Tier 1 partner decides they do wish to redo the aging and storage tests on their own devices, they just have to go to 2,000 hours for qualification (82 days). the 5,000 hours is just “informational” and not for “qualification"
3) the remainder of the required tests for "full Telcordia GR-468" qualification are not over extended periods of time and also are the easiest ones for LWLG Polymers to pass as they only relate mechanical shock and vibration
So, 1,000 hours in customer devices (41 days) and 2,000 hours (82) days, if they want to redo the aging tests in their own devices. Just saying we are not waiting on 6 or 12 months more of testing like we were in the past. Also, the sample size of 11 devices is the standard, just as the company reported
Ok, so based on the FACTS above, this is the reason the pipeline of Tier 1 (and VC funded startups as well) has been swelling recently as Yves describe in his presentation update on July 31st which you can view in its entirety here
Yves reconfirmed there will be 3-5 Tier 1 (and perhaps a VC funded startup as well) in Stage 3 by the end of 2025, and recently Yves has engaged a Hyperscaler in addition to the impressive list of Tier 1's engaged around the world!!
