Blackrock would not buy over 8% of AVXL to just mirror the Russell 2000,
with 2000 stocks to chose from they would distort the performance of any Russell 2000 index fund by putting than much AVXL in.
That is not what indexing is about.

If you want to think there are scores of index funds that bought that 8%, go ahead.
The simpler and more logical answer is Blackrock analysts like the stock,
hence they are buying it for actively managed funds or client private accounts
because they are seeking superior "alpha" returns.
