Barnstormer, I'm a year older than you, but only have NWBO about half as long, but as an IMGN investor of nearly 4 decades, I understand your frustration. While I didn't like their buyout, overall the investment did pay off nicely.
I know a lot of good people got out with substantial losses over the years. Each time we were hit with bad news I asked myself if I knew of anything with better upside potential, as long as I didn't, I remained invested. Don't get me wrong, at times I did sell some to move to something else, and sometimes I bought more, but over the entire time I was always invested.
I believe that we're getting down to the wire on the initial success of NWBO, but only the initial success. I believe if not bought out, this company has the potential for many additional successes.
If not bought out, I believe the new successes will be occurring well after I'm no longer here, even if I live to 100 or more, which would be my goal. I don't believe the success requires LP's involvement that much longer, but no single or group of people are needed as long as suitable replacements are found.
I know that DCVax's by themselves won't cure cancer, but as the right combinations of therapeutics are added to them, I believe that many more people than those currently cured will be. The goal will always be curing everyone, but that's a goal that probably will never be reached. The key is cancer won't be nearly the threat it was last century, and by next century, provided we're still on the planet, it won't be the threat it is this one.
I certainly can't say if NWBO will exist at the end of this century, but if it is, I expect it will have a market cap that's well into double, or even triple digit trillions of dollars, if we're still using dollars.
As for now, I believe it won't be long before we'll be quite profitable in our investment. I intend to let my children inherit the bulk of my gains but will take enough pocket change out to do whatever I want in a first-class manner. My plan is to do it largely by selling out of the money calls, and hopefully keeping all the stock, but I won't consider doing that until we're trading at least in double digits. I don't believe it will be that long before we're well over $10 a share.
