So there’s no misinformation out there…

A public company has no access to and cannot use the funds you use to buy shares on the secondary market (OTC/NASDAQ/etc). You are buying from another shareholder and your money goes to them.

The company only gets money when selling NEW SHARES direct to an investor (the primary market)

Let’s make sure this delusion doesn’t spread further
