High speeds yes. But what aircraft parts were you thinking of?
The temperatures on the ground are the same for all aircraft. The air temps get cooler as you climb in altitude. In fact most who have tried to escape by hiding in the retractable landing gear box, freeze to death.
So in order to state heat as a factor. What part of the aircraft are you referring to that would be subjected to higher temperatures different from commercial aircraft today? The airframe or the power plant? For example the skin of the airframe? The ailerons, wing Flap hinges etc.
What part specifically for Liquidmetal would be more stressed that would negate the use of Liquidmetal for a supersonic aircraft vs what is in place now that LQMT has no contract for?
I do not believe the temps at Mach one ore Mach two will generate high heat to negatively impact on the properties of LQMT’s Liquidmetal, if you are talking about out the airframe. In fact Liquidmetal parts would be more advantageous for the ailerons.
Heat is a broad term. Can you be more specific.?
Thank you.
