Is it wise to start talking about second generation even before
first generation is approved and well established on the markets ?

The car-industry - and several others (i.e. Laptops, chips) - call this
'cannibalizing', i.e. the old product is no more longer bought in quantities.

Is this different in the health-industry ? and going one step further
(or possible converse conclusion) :
They got word that first generation is / will be approved and are now encouraged
to start talking about second ?
