Hi JR, Re: My most common settings for AIM................
The majority (maybe 70%) of my AIM engines are invested in business sector and "style" ETFs. With those I use 10% Buy SAFE, 0.0% Sell SAFE, and 5% of PC for the minimum transaction size. Profit from a buy to a sell (LIFO) works out to be roughly 20% most of the time (10+0+ 5+5). Other than the adding to the Buy SAFE on sequential buy transactions, I basically keep to those settings. (I didn't mention that I reduce the Buy SAFE to 10% after the first AIM directed Sell)
Maybe 30% of my total portfolio has settings of 10% Buy SAFE, either 0.0% or 10% Sell SAFE, and 10% of PC minimum transaction value. This is used on high income and low volatility investments. Yes, I want to profitably trade these, but the emphasis is shifted away from just trading profits because of high dividends or other individual factors. Generally the higher dividend payers range in annual yield from around 6%/yr to around 12%/yr. Those dividends are the base like for annual total return. AIM trading profits help to increase the total return on those.
So, generally I am using something closer to AIM-High (Lichello's last iteration) for individual common stocks and high yielding dividend investments. This has worked well for that class of stocks/funds.
Best wishes,
OAG Tom
