I agree that we can tone down the politics. But it would be naive and unrealistic to ignore the impact of politics on the market, especially in these companies we're talking about.

The volatility of the markets that has resulted from the unnecessary trade war has had a direct impact on interest rates, which will have a direct impact on the mortgage market. The increasing yields of the U.S. Treasury bonds has a direct connection to mortgage rates.

There is a strong likelihood that the U.S. is headed for a recession (if not a depression) and that we are likely to see very high inflation in the next year. That will not only affect mortgage rates, but the ability of people to even consider purchasing homes. That, in turn, will affect RKT and COOP.

If we're not watching and considering the impact of politics on these two stocks, we're likely to get caught watching when the mortgage market crashes and takes these two stocks down with it.
