Utter stupidity IMHO. It's like handing a loaded gun to the people who are actively trying to steal your belongings. On such a heavily shorted biotech stock facing a binary event like MA, your shares are your (only) leverage. Lending them out only empowers the very ruthless pricks trying to profit from the stock's decline and ultimately in it's aggregation the lower resulting SP has undoubtedly prevented DCVax from getting to patients more quickly. You're undermining your own long position and potentially accelerating the very outcome we've all hoping to avoid (NWBO's thankfully now unlikely bankruptcy) and I don't buy your 'it's legal so why not take advantage of it' argument for a second, it's utterly counterintuitive no matter if it has enabled you to buy more shares or not. The fact that it's a classic prisoners dilemma game doesn't mean you should be taking advantage of it (because others are), it's greed pure n simple and a betrayal of other longs in the game and ultimately cancer patients waiting to get DCVax. If you and your ilk hadn't collectively aided the other team then you wouldn't have needed to buy more shares in the first place to keep parity from dilution. Tell yourself whatever you need to in order to legitimise your actions, but I suspect when all is said and done you know gnawingly somewhere deep down that I'm right!
