Stated income and no doc loans never really existed, did you ever give or do you know anyone that ever got a loan without showing bank statements, pay stubs, blah, blah, blah...etc, etc, etc....? everyone I ever saw the barrow'r had to jump through the hoops, I always seen it as a way for the lender to make a few extra points by not being quite as strict. jmho
