My Take on Sunday's Show

Now officially caught up, and I will say this I found this week better than the previous overall.

1) Landry- Sings a CU song to CU, seen that last week as well with a singer doing that. She was very good, and she also made it a little her own. No brainer Yes for me, and the judges put her through.

2) Victor- Sang in my opinion the best LR song to LR. The guy playing the piano while he was singing might of set back piano playing a 100 year in my opinion. A little over the top in parts, but overall he can sing. I would put him through and the judges did.

3) Isaiah- first got the story of the Grandparents took him in, with the mom's struggles and all. Okay Vocal and Okay song, on the fence at best. Leaning towards a no, but the judges put him through.

4) Grayson- sings a song that was a duet between two female powerhouse singers in DL and CA. Sounds a little bit like CA in parts. Can flat out sing, one of the best vocals I have heard so far in the contest. No brainer yes for me and the judges put her through.

5) Brajawn- The postal worker is up next. Normally I like big powerful voices, and this guy isn't that. But there is something about the way he sings that is pretty good, a combo of a vibe with his voice. can't really explain it but do like it. Yes for me and although not unanimous by the judges they do put him through.

6) Kase- a 14 year old singer, clearly he came in too early as his voice seems to be maturing wouldn't surprise me if he came back a couple of years later and was actually good. He just isn't ready yet. I would pass and the judges did the same.

7) Mikaela- Singing a WH song, on a positive note she has an very good voice, on a negative note zero connection to the song. Still more than good enough to go through at this point but for some reason CU says no, and considering some of the people she has said yes to. Than the dad comes in she sings with her dad and she was much better connecting in my opinion, it will be interesting if she can learn to do that without her dad. I would obviously put her through at this point, judges did originally not unanimous, than CU said she would give her a yes after hearing the second song.

8) Bryson- Next up was the kid with the sister with the rare condition. It was just an okay song, with maybe a slightly above average vocal. On the fence leaning towards a yes and the judges put him through.

9) Carson- Singing a TS song and that is one of many favorite songs. Have to say I didn't have the highest expectations going in. But overall I thought he sang very well, and should go through. The judges put him through.

10) MKY- sang a SR classic Not perfect but does have a pretty good falsetto. I have my concerns about his non falsetto voice. But hard to tell on that because 90% of that song is sung in falsetto so can't say for certain. Good enough at this point. The judges put him through.

11) Josh- sang a classic that was played a gazillion times on talent shows. The good news is the piano playing was solid, the bad news is he made the piano playing the star, when he should be selling his voice. His voice was good, the arrangement and his style were not very good. He has some bad habits in my opinion that I'm not sure if he will be able to break. I would be a yes because I would give him one more chance to sink/swim worth a shot with the good voice, and solid piano play, now whether he can get out of those bad habits. Time will tell. we will find out in the next round in my opinion. Judges put him through although not unanimous.

12) Sophie- Singing a original song and hard pass on her vocal as I'm not even sure I would call that singing. As for the song, there is part of me that wants to say take it seriously or have a little class, there is another part of me that just wanted to crack up hearing the gazillion things she wanted to tell off with that classic line.

13) Lashion- Let me first start by saying might be the character of AI in 2025. That was perhaps the strangest vocal, style and song (which apparently was original) we will probably see this year. for me she grew on me and I liked it. probably not for everyone though I do admit that. But I would give her a yes and the judges did.

14) Filo- Singing a classic song, had a combo of way too many runs, a bunch of key and pitch issues, with a combo of yelling, and by definition is was all over the place. for me it was a hard pass, the judges disagree to giving him a standing ovation and eventually a platinum ticket. I go back hear it again thinking maybe I was too hard on him, but it was actually worse the 2nd time I listened. Don't get him getting a ticket let alone a platinum one, but to each their own I guess.

Anyways that is my take on week 2. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
