I do not agree with you. DI is clearly acting in concert with management whose policy has been to provide as little information as lawfully possible. Thus the ambiguities in DI's responses are not due to lack of skill, but done so intentionally. They can not mislead, but they are certainly meant to be ambiguous and require you to read between the lines if in fact there is anything there at all and/or use your imagination to fill in.
It seems that management has determined that it is more important that big BP and dark pool shorts not be informed rather than investors be informed.
