EO polymers undoubtedly have huge potential, but it is a now or never moment for them at this point. A ridiculous amount of money is being invested in competing technologies by many dozens of different companies. That's why the PIC/4x200G modulator chip was so important. If it was actually about to be revealed along with a transceiver prototype (or completed optical engine at least), we'd be in very good shape. With the apparent setback, 400G/lane is probably the new target for market entry. I am confident Yves will be able to form a meaningful partnership or two this year.

I don't believe in LWLG nearly as much as I used to. There is one man at the company that is a cancer on the organization and without him I bet we'd be at mass commercialization by now. The company could have drastically accelerated development if they raised significant capital when the company was worth $1 billion+ for 18 months. Or, if that one man did his assigned job of making sure the day-to-day operations were running well then maybe we'd have the PIC.

If LWLG announces a significant partnership that also indicates the last 2 years of work wasn't completely wasted and they can in fact have an EO polymer based pluggable transceiver ready and qualified within ~12ish months...I'd be very excited.

I am expecting a revamped Annual Report within the next couple weeks, so hopefully we get some new information there and in an update letter.

Oh and regarding CPO...it doesn't bother me at all that Perkinamine is not ready for it. The market for pluggable transceivers is big enough.
