JTORENCE,

Dr Linda Liau has dedicated her life to developing a cure for brain cancer. She would have wanted this treatment given to as many patients as possible as soon as she saw it working back in 2012 then confirmed by blinded data in 2015. In 2018 Dr Keyoumars Ashkan declared that he wanted L for all of his patients. Unfortunately there has been no feasible pathway available to get this treatment to more patients sooner without acquiescence to the status quo of “we’ll take it from here” by big pharma” and then history shows they will only develop it if they can’t make more money elsewhere.
The development process and personalized method of treatment is not what big pharma has been set up for so they were not initially interested until L and Direct became understood to be verifiable threats to the entire cancer treatment industry. At that time the attacks on NWBO mounted but for a while Mr. Neil Woodford was supporting them which helped get enrollment finished even though manufacturing was still trying to clear hurdles with regulators while trying to create a viable business model with it. The viable business model is what requires Flaskworks so that partnerships can be formed based on a lower cost and more safely produced product that can be combined with other treatments which will need to adjust their prices somewhat too when in combo.
So no, not greed or stupidity, rather just working out the logistics of developing a successful long term business model under the constraints of pricing models required in order to ensure ability to reimburse by private insurance and governmental health care systems. That there are no currently available set asides or reimbursement models for patients to choose promising safe experimental treatments is the real sore spot. Shameful really that obvious treatment effect benefit for certain classes of patients is not reason enough for alternate treatment options priced at SOC cost rate. Best wishes.
